A Loyal Companion in Recovery: Eleonora's Touching Journey with the Fiido M1 Pro E-Bike

Eleonora, from Rome, Italy, is a nature-loving sports enthusiast who enjoys hiking, skateboarding, outdoor cycling and yoga. However, three years ago, an unexpected reaction to a COVID-19 vaccine led to muscle atrophy in her right knee and leg, forcing her to halt all physical exercise. Even walking was difficult sometimes. The sea and the beach, once her source of joy, now brought a tinge of sadness, as cyclists on the beach were a constant reminder of her inability to ride.
One day, it came to her that an electric bike might be her hope. Specifically, she needed a bike with a sensitive pedal and a powerful motor. All her old e-bikes failed to meet her needs, so she and her partner began researching and comparing options before eventually deciding to try out Fiido M1 Pro.
Returning to the beach as a rider
The moment she first gently pedaled the Fiido M1 Pro, she knew it was the right bike for her. "You can really feel the bike's power immediately propelling you forward; this is what I have always dreamed of!" Within days, she eagerly ventured through the woods to the beach with her Fiido M1 Pro. This freedom was something she hadn't felt in three years. “Imagine that I couldn't even almost walk, and I was riding the bike!" She was amazed at how the e-bike navigated rough terrain effortlessly, with the fat tires and suspension system absorbing most of the bumps. Whenever she encountered a steep incline, a gentle pressing of the throttle allowed her to overcome it with ease.
Since then, Eleonora has frequently ridden her Fiido M1 Pro through the woods and along the beach. She laughed in the rushing wind and breathed in sync with the waves, bonding with nature in the way she loved. Little by little she let go of the negative emotions that had accumulated on her.
Recovery workout is about taking baby steps
Driven by her insistent desire to recover, Eleonora initially pushed herself to resume middle-to-high-intensity sports like swimming and regular cycling. However, the more she tried, the more resistance and powerlessness she felt in her body. Some activities even led to further injuries. Her excercise plans went nowhere. "Fiido was the umpteenth effort I was making. Thanks to this bike, I started exercising again, very slowly, but it's my rhythm and I was not pushing myself. This is what I really needed." She realized that for recovery training, less is more, and slow is fast. "Don't push yourself too hard and take it slow," she advises people in similar situations. This gradual approach helped her body to recover effectively.
What’s next?
Eleonora is recovering well and plans to take a long trip to central Italy this summer with her Fiido M1 Pro, now equipped with three range-extending batteries. In the future, after full recovery, she wants Fiido to continue to be her companion through many more adventures. She would also recommend the e-bike to her fellow cycling enthusiasts for conquering challenging terrains. Indeed, people in good physical condition can also benefit from ebikes, with which they will be much bolder when travelling and will cover much more ground.

During our interview, Eleonora also provided feedback for improving the Fiido M1 Pro, suggesting an adjustable seat post and a more comfortable saddle. These are precisely the enhancements we are implementing in the new version of the M1 Pro, set to launch in Europe this August. In addition to the adjustable seat post and Velo saddle, the new M1 Pro will feature a rear rack, a prominent brake taillight, and a dashboard connectable to a smartwatch. These changes are the result of attending to our customers' feedback, which we greatly value and appreciate.
